About Miguel
Miguel Macías, a visual storyteller who has traveled throughout Ecuador for more than 50 years.
His passion began in his adolescence, influenced by his grandfather, an amateur photographer, and his father, who led a campaign to build rural schools in the most remote corners of the country. It was during these trips that his love for Ecuador was born.
Each photograph he takes does not seek to document, but to interpret.
It is his way of capturing the ephemeral, what fades with time. From the legendary Canon F-1 to his current Nikon D850, his technique has evolved, yet his purpose remains unchanged: to reveal the Ecuador we carry within us.
His work is imbued with memory, sensitivity, and contemplation. This space is an invitation to see the country through his eyes: intimate, honest, and profoundly Ecuadorian.
